The Peak Wind Orchestra was founded in 2009 by three music graduates looking for a place to play.  The original aim was to recruit advanced, post Grade 8, adult players to create a band that could rehearse twice monthly and still produce concerts of an extremely high standard.  
Over the last decade this aim has been the driving force behind player recruitment and proudly the band has gone from strength to strength over the years.

Peak Wind Orchestra does most of it's concerts as self organised events in Youlgrave Parish Church, typically at least Christmas and a summer concert. PWO also does performances for paying customers including a long standing partnership with Chesterfield Studios Academy of Performing Arts, contributing to their summer and winter concert performances.
In a normal year the band performs 5-8 concerts in concert halls, theatres and churches.
